Pupils at Pewsey Vale School have received a valuable donation of new laptops from a local contractor to help improve their IT facilities.

Rydon donated the new equipment after working alongside the school during the neighbouring redevelopment of The Vale Health & Wellbeing Centre, a community hub bringing a range of new services tailored to the local community.

Pewsey Vale’s Headteacher Neil Pritchard was presented with the laptops when the Rydon team, comprising Paul Barber, Gavin Cox and Luke Goldsworthy, visited the school after completing the work on the community hub.

Neil Pritchard commented:

“I have been extremely impressed by both the professionalism and communication with the Rydon team since work commenced on our site to build The Vale Health & Wellbeing Centre. This facility offers both our school and the local community with such positive opportunities within sport, health and fitness.

Pewsey Vale School are extremely thankful for the generous donation from Rydon. We have used these laptops for those students that need it the most.

Thank you for all your hard work over the past 18 months. We wish you all the luck with your next project”.

Paul Barber, South West Regional Director for Rydon, added: “Throughout our work on the stunning Vale Health & Wellbeing Centre we had regular contact with the school to ensure our activities caused minimal disruption. This donation of new technology is our way of saying thank you as well as helping to make another positive difference in the areas where we build. We are proud to support them.”

The Vale Health & Wellbeing Centre in Pewsey is the third contract Rydon completed for Wiltshire Council as part of its programme to deliver health and wellbeing centres across the county. The two other schemes have been successfully delivered in Salisbury and Tisbury.

Located on the current leisure centre site, Pewsey’s new Health & Wellbeing Centre provides a range of facilities for the local community including a large fitness suite, a new four-lane 25-metre pool, a multi-purpose room available for community bookings and group exercise classes and a meeting room spaces for community groups and local events.
