What is The Shak?
The Shak is a purpose built Youth Development Centre based on the Pewsey Vale School site and integrated with Pewsey Swimming and Sports Centre. Not so much a ‘Youth Club’ but a professionally run, unique and exclusive space for young people where they can meet to experience new ideas, activities, adventures, challenges and relationships both in and out of school.
The Shak is open daytimes exclusively for Pewsey Vale students - and for all 13-19 year olds during evenings.
The Shak is managed by a qualified and experienced full-time Youth Development Coordinator supported by trained and experience Youth Development Assistants.

The Shak is open for:-

• Breakfast Clubs for Pewsey Vale School Students daily 8am to 9am. A place to meet friends before the school day, enjoy a cooked breakfast and plan for the day ahead.
• Lunch Clubs for Pewsey Vale School Students daily 12.20pm – 1.05pm. An opportunity in the middle of the day for relaxation, to catch up on homework, rehearse in the studio with your band or simply enjoy a hot snack and a game of pool – all in an ‘out of school’ environment.
• Club nights for young people in school years 9,10,11,12 & 13, 6.30 – 10.30pm Mon/Wed/Thurs. Tues Project Night 6.30-10pm and a further Club night for school years 7 & 8 Fri 6-8pm,/8-10pm. A great place for following special interests or meeting friends and making new ones. Extended opportunities for activities, support, advice and adventure.
