If students need to take medication of any kind during the school day, this should be sent to the school office clearly marked with the student's name, date and dose. We must be made aware of students with allergies requiring use of an Epipen. Students in school should not carry medicines, other than inhalers for treatment of asthma. We are unable to administer any medication that is not provided by parents/carers such as headache remedies.

If your child has a medical condition and is taking part in a school trip/visit it is essential that parents/carers ensure that the staff organiser is fully aware of the condition.

In an emergency situation, the school will make every effort to contact parents/carers through the contact details that have been provided. If this is not possible in a reasonable time, the school will contact a doctor or other registered medical practitioner for advice and to treat the child as required. If a student requires an ambulance and we are unable to contact parents/carers, a member of staff will accompany them to hospital. Parents/carers who do not wish to follow this procedure should inform the Headteacher in writing.

It is therefore important to update us immediately should your contact details change.
