The new Learning Resource Centre was officially opened in November 2004 and dedicated to John Acres, a former Deputy Head teacher who died in July 2003. It is a large and extremely busy open-access, multimedia facility at the heart of the school. It offers access to the widest possible choice of resources to support teaching and learning across the curriculum, and contributes to the development of literacy skills by encouraging an interest in wider reading.

Opening Times
8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday

Borrowing
Students may borrow 4 books/story tapes for 3 weeks 1 DVD/Video for 2 days Resources should be returned in good order. If they are lost or damaged you may be asked to pay for a replacement. Please speak to the librarian if there are any problems.

Facilities
The LRC incorporates a computer suite of 24 networked computer stations. The teaching area has a whiteboard as well as a TV/ video recorder.

There is seating in the library area for up to 40 students.

There is a satellite room that can be used for individual study or for small groups.

Stationery Shop: Items are sold at very competitive prices.

Careers: The library holds general careers information – books, leaflets and website lists, and also prospectuses for further education colleges. Representatives from Connexions visit the LRC every week and are available for individual consultation.
